RHSS Done!!

Here they are in their natural habitat.and on my feet.
Yarn: 1 skein of Knit Picks Sock Garden in Zinnia, sadly discontinued.
Needles: US2 bamboo skewers (I love me some skewers)
Pattern: Another version of the Lace and Cable socks (awww...me and my pal match)
What can I say? I love love love this yarn. It doesn't pill, it just kind of felts. It's really soft. I love it.

The Amazing Lace: GO!!!

Well, yesterday was the start of the Amazing Lace. I woke up at about 7:45 and started knitting my FBS. So far, it's an enjoyable, fun knit. Let's see what I think about it when I have over 250 stitches--a first for me--:O
I don't have a team introduction yet but I do have pictures!!

Picture #1:
Yeah, that's a lifeline. Already.
Picture #2:

This photo is blurrier, but it shows the colors better.

Lace Close-up:
In other news, I updated Aqua-Star Stash, and installed Firefox. I used to use IE (or, as Grumperina said, the tool of the devil). I like Firefox a whole heck of a lot better.

I'm back!

Whew...a lot of blog catching-upping to do here. I've been on vacation and just came back...yes, Hyampom again. This time, the river was down a lot and we could actually swim without drowning (if, of course, we didn't mind hypothermia instead). I finished the second RHSS. Pictures to come soon.

**I've balled up a skein of KP Sock Memories. It is tempting.....verrrry tempting. (edit: Yes, I started the sock. Toe up, ribbed, nothing fancy.)
**I made an order from Knit Picks. No, nothing for me (which was hard), because Katie's birthday is Saturday!
**Allison, I'm glad you like the socks I made you. They were really fun to knit.
**Blog-reading: I have a lot of reading and commenting to do here. I do read everyone's blog, you know, even if I don't comment.
**I wear my sockapaloooza socks all the time. I wear them around the house, I wear them to bed, I wear them lounging and knitting on the couch. IHowever, I do not wear them with sneakers because I am afraid they will pill and be less beautiful. I love them.
**We sold the skein of yarn in our shop!
**We signed up for SP8. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun.
**I like this picture.
It's the seat of piano bench in the living room (in front of the piano....duh....).

Sockapaloooza!

The package (mailed two days ago):

Say goodbye to one skein of Gems Opal in the prettiest green color, some handmade stitchmarkers (my first try, so don't laugh) spelling out her blog name, a bar of See's Milk Chocolate with Toffee Nuggets, leftover yarn for mending, a Yosemite (from which I live six hours away) postcard, and of course the beautiful stripey socks in all their [unblocked] goodness.
Details:
Yarn: Three Sisters Yarn Haindpainted Sock in Neon Sunset, aka my hand dyed yarn. My first attempt at dyeing yarn and I think it turned out really good. I like the self-stripiness.
Pattern: "Lace and Cable Socks" from the April 2006 issue of "Emily's Brain"
Needles: Homemade US2 bamboo needles (kabob skewers...gotta be resourceful)

And I'm still working on my RHSS socks. Gosh.

The Amazing Lace

The Amazing Lace -- I'll be knitting a FBS in SoCal, North Carolina, and my backyard.
My latest knitalong. I'm way overdue on casting on a Flower Basket Shawl for the Evelyn A. Clark kal -- it was the March/April project. Not to mention the skirt and bag from Sew? I Knit and the February, March and April projects from Stashbusters.

Done.

I finished the second sockapaloooza sock yesterday...and stupidly left it at church. Luckily, my dad goes to work on Tuesdays near the church, so he'll pick them up for me then. I'll just have to mail them a day late. I hope that's ok.

Obviously this means I don't have a picture of the finished pair, and that I'll have to send them off unblocked. Sorry, pal. You can block them to your measurements. Here's an in-progress picture of the first sock, modeled on Katie, who has smaller feet than my pal.

Gotta love that striping.
